Grandma Porter, (Tom's Mom) has been here all week and we have enjoyed every minute of it. I love having her here, as she is easy to entertain, and is quite the ray of sunshine in our house...until she talks politics with Tom. With her here, I was reminded of some of my favorite things about her this week.
- She loves my cooking and tells me lots.
- She has no problem with spending an entire day watching Disney movies with Kira and laughs louder then the kids at the funny parts.
- She really enjoys all the "dumb" Disney channel shows that annoy me. When I told the kids not to force Grandma to watch these shows, she insisted it was fine and that she watches them all the time with Jeannie's kids. After that, I heard her again laughing out loud.
- She is in no hurry in the mornings which makes it nice. We don't dare plan to do anything before 10am.
- She is always up for a chocolate treat, but my chocolate stash is a disappointment compared to her daughter Marcy's.
- She still gives motherly advice to Tom, and I love to listen in. My favorite was on a previous visit she told Tom he should be less sarcastic.
- She loves the sunshine coming in the house as much as me. With her here, they are open more.
- She loves a good book, especially the Book of Mormon, which I caught her reading regularly.
- She is usually cold in our house, so when she is here, Tom runs the heat more.
- She always shares an old family story, or two, and I learn more about the family history each time.

She left this afternoon and I miss her already. Sean will miss her as well, despite that every night he would ask when she was leaving so he could have his room back.
