I found a good deal on Living Social for paintball and thought it would be fun for Andrew's birthday. Due to logistics in our house, I ended up taking the boys and I wasn't intending on participating. Andrew and his friends seemed pumped to have fun on their own, but after getting there and smelling the paint fumes, I found myself joining the fun.
What I didn't realize was how therapeutic something like this would be. My advice to all 30 somethings, working, parenting, and carrying the weight of the world, go play paintball. Something about shooting things, including kids, that just seems to make all the woes go away. I may have to fit this into my schedule a few times a year.
One of my favorite parts of the day was watching all 4 boys I brought, crouching down behind a barrier, refusing to move, and playing the part of sitting ducks. It was so funny watching them get devoured by the large guys on the opposing team. After that, they learned it was better to move then cower in the corner, perhaps a life lesson?
As you can see I am still having a blast hanging out with pre-teen boys. Hopefully I will still be having a blast with them when they are teenagers.

I love this idea. Sometimes you just need to shoot something!
