While in Arizona Tom and I (and Sean of course) were able to stop in and say hello to Tom's Uncle Elden and Aunt Pat. It was a great opportunity for me to meet the closest thing to Tom's dad. Grandpa Newell Porter passed away back in 2001 before Tom and I were dating and part of me wishes I could have met him, and have him see our children grow up. Meeting his brother, who looks very similar to Newell, was wonderful and it left both Tom and I a little teary eyed as we left.
It was one more experience that reminded me of how thankful I am for eternal families. I know that my children and myself will someday embrace Grandpa Porter and tell him all about ourselves, even though he will all ready know all of it I am sure.
