Honey Bomb

The best part of Thanksgiving is watching Tom pound the honey bombs. Always a pleasure Tom, thanks for the demo, and the show.

Sorry to my Neighbor

Living in the Bay Area it is a given that your neighbors are close, very close. The other day I had Andrew and his friends take out the trash through our side door. The deck on the side of our house looks right into our neighbors sun room. Often I see them sitting there and wave to say hello. This day they got a little more then a wave. When Andrew opened the door friend one blurted, "Wow, I didn't know your neighbors were right there." The second friend then blurted even louder, "WOW, I didn't know your neighbor was BALD!"

Oh the joys of 9 year old boys. I keep hoping he didn't hear them.

Thanksgiving is Saved!

Thankfully the new fridge and stove arrived this morning. Delivery on Friday never happened which resulted in some screaming matches on the phone and delay in delivery until today. Everything went smooth with the exception of our water valve (ours was too big). No problem though, just an excuse to go to OSH get a new valve and replaced it myself (my plumbing skills are getting better slowly.) I now have a fridge with water, and a stove that actually lights on it's own without using a match.
First on the list for cooking, mac n' cheese for kids for lunch and then on to baking for Thanksgiving. I am anxious to test out the convection oven, I have a feeling I will fall in love.

Goodbye

to this old stove.
I am so glad to see you go, and I am thrilled you are being replaced by something that is way more stylish. I am already making of list of what I will be cooking in your replacement this Friday. In fact, I will be cooking two different things at the same time because your replacement is just that much cooler then you.
Adios.

Yes we get FOG, but...

We also get 68 degrees in November. It was the perfect day for a bike ride.

Jade's Favorite Things, #7

Tom's Martin Guitar
and of course the "Long Legged Guitar Pickin' Man"
Tom loves to play the guitar and thankfully he is good at it. Many of you don't know what a great song writer he is and how often he sits around our house playing great music. My favorite family memories include Tom playing this guitar in our living room. When we were dating Tom stole my heart by singing sweet nothings on his old acoustic guitar.
After the wedding, knowing that a mortgage and more kids were coming, Tom seized the opportunity to drop a little cash on a nice guitar. I am so glad he did. Our house is always filled with music as a result and when he plays the kids usually come join in from all ends of the house. There are some nights where Tom is sitting singing the blues all by his lonesome, but what he doesn't know is that I am always lingering listening in.
If our house ever caught on fire, I would grab my kids, my Coach boots, and then this guitar. That is if Tom hasn't grabbed it first.

Let the Potty Training Begin

I hate diapers, I really do. I have been pushing Sean into potty training simply because of this fact. He really is not quite ready, and I think we will be doing this for some time, but it has been fun hanging out with him in the bathroom the last 2 weeks. We read a lot of books, eat a lot of candy (as reward), and laugh about how cute he is in his big boy pants. If I could just get him to care that his pants are wet we will have it down. This is one rough and dirty boy. He could sit in wet pants all day if you let him. Hopefully by the time Christmas comes we will have this all down or might have to move my office into the bathroom.
