Feminism Instilled Early On

Those of you might not know that I graduated from Stephen College, a women's college in the mid-west. While there I made some life long friends and one, named Brenda, for many years helped me celebrate Women's Appreciation Month, in March, by sending me "Chick CD's." Brenda has since stopped the tradition (which makes me sad) but I still have all the CD's.
Recently I have taken road trips with the kids minus Tom, and I pulled out these CD's for entertainment. Kira fell in love, and has now taken ownership of them. Andrew found them to be a little abnoxious, but I feel like with Kira I was able to share just a little of what my college days were like.

It makes me smile to hear her singing, "I am woman hear me roar in numbers too big to ignore, and I know to much to go back and pretend...." I think we need more trips minus the boys just so I can share a little more.

Thanks Brenda for all the CD's and for giving me something to share with Kira. How about moving on to playlists at iTunes?
