Bridal Veil Falls, Utah

Before hitting up the caves, we spent some time at Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon.
One of the best parts of our trip to Utah was spending so much time with Mariah.  She has been living with my friend Meggan, whom we were visiting, and it was fun to have her around.  Sean is still asking about Mariah and when we will see her again.
This is a good photo because it is evidence that Andrew is taller then Mariah.

Timpanogos Cave

Another fun adventure for our family in Utah.  As you can tell from the photo below Mariah and Kira were thrilled that Tom just made them hike up a mile and 1/2 that climbed 1,092 feet up.  It was a hot day to be doing switch backs up a mountain, but the inside of the cave was cool... and scary.

The Heart inside the cave.  Very cool, but I am still on the fence if it was worth the hike.

Porterville

Tom and Andrew got up early while we were staying in Heber to get in a trip to the beloved Porterville.
Porterville is a town, northeast of Salt Lake (along the immigrant trail) that was settled by Tom's Great, Great, Great Grandfather, Sanford Porter.  Tom has been talking about Porterville for many years, and finally got the chance to connect with his family history, once he got past the sheep in the road.

The old Church building that was dedicated by Joseph F. Smith in 1908 and is now for sale for $205,750.
Of course, the most exciting was the "Porter-potty" in Porterville.
Yes, they really took this trip and Tom really got Andrew to go along.  Thinking it would be boring, I was pleasantly surprise that Andrew really enjoyed it (even if it was for the "rocking out" road trip to our satellite radio)

Temples.
Ignore Tom's silly stance... I don't know what he was doing.
On a recent trip to Salt Lake, I got to show my children for the first time the Salt Lake temple.  The spirit is strong, even when just walking around the grounds, and it only reaffirms my feelings that the church is true.  I love this grand blessing the Lord has provided to all of us and I love that we got to spend some time enjoying this temple.

BYU Library

Who knew the BYU library would be stocked with Avengers books?
Perfect place for some tired young boys.
While in Utah, we got to spend lot's of time with my old college friend Meggan and also with her children.  Here is Sean with her son Bucky who seems to be just as excited about Avengers as Sean.  So glad to have friends in the Avenger loving clan.

Salt Fields of Salt Lake Utah

Who knew Salt could be so exciting? I guess when it is covering 40 square miles, it is pretty amazing.
It was fun to take off our shoes and feel it on our feet, but I had to stop it at that when they considered driving my new car out on it.

Beginning Band

Our last beginning band concert, unless Sean decides to play.  There is something special, and painful about beginning band.  The most exciting about this concert for me, was watching Andrew play the timpani's.  Very cool.
