My Appreciation for the Giants

Unfortunately for Tom, I am not a sports fan. He is a BIG sports fan, and I mean all sports from Ping Pong to the National Spelling Bee. He is often disappointed that I won't sit down and enjoy a football or baseball game with him. With the Giants recent wins, and the World Series looking more and more of a possibility (I hope I didn't just jinx it) I wanted to show my love and support by adding a little Orange to our house. No, it is not quite Giants orange, but it is as close as I could bring myself to get.

Now when you open our closets, you get a little Giants surprise, and hopefully no longer a moldy smell. See Tom, I have small space in my heart reserved for the Giants.

FHE Porter Style

Sometimes it consists of dip cones from DQ, reading a chapter of scriptures, and then we call it a night.
It's fun that Sean can now sit at the table and join us. When he was a baby we used to sit him in the center of the table and watch him try to reach for all of our cones. Now, he can handle his own, as well as mine.

A hot day in Pacifica

It was warm today in Pacifica. By warm I mean low 70's. Often when the temperatures rise and the fog moves back, people tend to do crazy things here in our little town.

I just hope I have the guts to walk along the sea wall sporting my american flag bikini top and short shorts when I get in my 70's. This just might be Tom and I in the future.
Sorry for only a back picture (the front was quite the site). I was so shocked at what was passing me that I didn't think to grab the camera until after they walked by.

Happy Birthday Tom!

I guess by the time you hit 45, birthdays make you sick. I felt sorry for him this morning since he had to go to work not feeling well, and it is his birthday. Sometimes life is just not fair.

Even when Tom is sick we still all love him being around. With out him around I wouldn't know details about all the shark sightings along the Pacific Coast. I wouldn't know the exact temperatures in the various locations surrounding our house and why those changes occur. I would probably live in a house that was close to 70 degrees inside instead of the chilly 67 that Tom prefers. My drapes would always be open. I would have to do the laundry, explain legal terms to the kids, look up vocabulary words definitions and go on the overnight field trips for the kids school. I would never understand the effects of off-shore winds vs. on-shore winds, and I would probably never get up at 5:30 am to go running on my own.

Happy 45th Birthday, Tom.

I can only hope that I look as good as you when I hit 45.

I love you,
Jade.

My Hectic Days

Some people would be embarrassed by this post, but I have learned over the years to just laugh at yourself. Work for me has been extremely busy the last month, so busy I hardly have time to come up for air. This means that with the exception of the days that I go in the office, Sean is pretty much on his own during the day. I always get asked, "how do you do it?" referring to working at home with a 2 year old. Well, here is your answer. Sean destroys the house, then naps, destroys some more, and then the kids come home to play with him and I clean up the house. We all go to bed and do it again the next day. Fun huh? I am counting down the days until pre-school starts for Sean next fall.

2010 LEAP Sandcastle Build

It was that time of year again this past weekend and we spent the greater part of Saturday at Ocean Beach helping Andrew's class build their sandcastle for the LEAP Sandcastle Contest. Andrew and his 4th grade class have been meeting with a group of engineers at Rudolph & Sletten to create their castle. This years theme was San Francisco Buildings and theirs was an aerial shot of Ocean Beach. We don't a picture of the completed build yet, but hopefully I will get one soon.
