Is the Excitement Gone?

During the last few weeks with Sean the best part of the day has been the evenings. Everyone is home and usually in the living room. I have been able to put Sean on the floor, on a blanket, and he is immediately surrounded by Kira, Andrew and Tom. They usually play with him most of the night. Last night I realized this might all be changing. I put Sean on the blanket and came back to find Tom on the computer, Kira and Andrew playing DS, and Sean, well he was asleep.

A Rare Photo of Myself

If you haven't noticed from my blog, I am the family photographer. With this job, there are few photos of myself in all our family photographs. I know there is always one in every family and well I am that one in ours. The moons aligned last night and Tom took a rare photo of me and Sean. This is proof that I do exist and am not just a faceless blogger.

We love this Game!

If you don't own it, go get it. The best part is the kids are just as good at it as Tom and I will ever be, so there is no playing soft. Each of us is out to win, and we are all sour losers.

Oh to have the life of a 7 year old boy...

Facts you might not know about Andrew.
  1. He plays the piano very quickly and loudly. His piano teacher calls him Mozart because he plays wildly and loves to write his own songs.
  2. He likes to ambush anyone who comes in his room with his Nerf guns.
  3. Loves to ride his bike on long bike rides (4-5 miles) with Tom.
  4. Favorite foods is Pizza and Rootbeer Floats.
  5. Values his 1 hour a day playing DS.
  6. Can beat just about anyone in a game of Uno.
  7. Loves writer's workshop and PE at school.
  8. He has become the family runner. I find that Tom and I use him to fetch things in the house. Often I will ask him to do something for me and find he is already getting something for Tom. Good thing he has more energy then Tom, Kira and myself put together.

Getting to Know Sean

Sean is now 3 1/2 weeks old and we have already learned a lot about him. Here is what we know so far...
  1. He loves to eat. Every 2 1/2 hours during the day, every 3-4 hours at night.
  2. He responds to the many noises that his dad makes to get his attention. No big smiles yet, but hopefully this week.
  3. He seems to enjoy taking the kids to school in the morning, from what I can tell.
  4. He grunts, whimpers and makes lots of noises (especially at night when we are trying to sleep).
  5. He sleeps a lot.
This is just about it. As we learn more, I will share.

We are raising Lisa Simpson

For the last few years I have noticed there were similarities between Kira and Lisa Simpson. Recently, Kira came home with a Saxophone, and now I know we are raising Lisa Simpson. You can read this description about Lisa and decide for yourself if I am right. The only thing I can find that is different is that Lisa is a vegetarian. Kira is working really hard with the sax and is playing really well. Soon enough she will be able to play all the jazz songs that Lisa plays.

Happy 43rd Birthday Tom!

With little sleep these days, we decided to have a quiet birthday at home. We feasted on Tom's favorite, Enchiladas and white cake with strawberries and cream cheese frosting. A great night had by all.
